Music to the Eyes

• Choose a song that inspires you.
• Make an abstract collage representing the song’s rhythm and mood.

• Review color relationships by creating a color wheel. Include the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
• Make a grid showing the same colors. Add tints by mixing colors with white. Add tones by mixing colors with black.
• Cut shapes, symbols, and patterns out of the color grid. Use them to create an abstract collage that represents your chosen song.
• Play with different color schemes and arrangements before pasting the colors onto a sheet of paper. How can you visually evoke the rhythm and lyrics?
