Think all museums are old and stuffy? Think again!

Contemporary art museum The Broad opened in 2015.

It's name, Broad, rhymes with road.

Founders Edythe Broad and her late husband Eli collected contemporary art for 50 years and wanted to share it with the public.

Each year, 900,000 people visit the museum.

The collection includes 2,000 artworks by more than 200 artists—including Cindy Sherman and Mark Bradford.

Six international architects and their firms participated in a competition to land the job of designing and building this high-profile museum.
