Mirrored Mutt Mural
This dazzling dog mural reflects its Miami neighborhood.
Students at Jose de Diego Middle School in Miami, Florida, were delighted when this pup popped up on a wall at their school this winter—and so were many other viewers visiting Art Basel in Miami, an international art fair. The school is located in a part of the city called the Wynwood Arts District. A group called the R.A.W. Project—which stands for Reimagining the Arts in Wynwood—asked Puerto Rican artist Bik Ismo (bik iss-moh) to create this outdoor mural. The project is meant to help raise funds for arts in schools. Spray-painted in mirror-like chrome paint in just four days, the dog’s shiny coat reflects the surrounding neighborhood.
